A week at ‘The Wing’ for the Bremont Townhouse

Relive the unveiling of Bremont’s new watch releases for 2022 at ‘The Wing’.

In years gone by, Bremont unveiled its new collections at the annual watch fair, Baselworld, in Switzerland. But, in 2017, Bremont made the decision to launch its new collections on home soil, and since then it has been inviting guests, retailers and press to attend its experiential launch events in Townhouses across London.

This year, for the first time, Bremont was thrilled to finally invite guests to experience its new state-of-the-art Manufacturing & Technology Centre aka ‘The Wing’ in Henley-on-Thames, where it hosted tours and special events featuring notable guest speakers, and showcased its brand-new collection of watches for 2022.

For those who were unable to attend the event, Bremont Co-Founders Nick and Giles English hosted a virtual launch where they revealed each of the new watches along with their design rationale and the stories that inspired their inception. Watch the film below to see how the virtual launch unfolded:

ALBON STEALS THE SHOW

The first event of the Bremont Townhouse saw the unveiling of the inaugural official collaboration timepiece from Bremont and the legendary British Formula 1 team, Williams Racing - the WR-22 Racing Chronograph. The new timepiece, inspired by the evocative motoring watches of the 1970s, brings together high performance and extreme durability, a perfect fit for the Williams Racing team who will be putting the watch through its paces in the upcoming 2022 F1 season.

Bremont also unveiled the extremely limited Bremont Williams Racing Box Set.

Limited to 45 sets, each comes with a once in a lifetime ‘Race Day’ experience hosted at Grove, the official home of Williams Racing in Oxfordshire. Taking place during the 2022 Singapore and Mexico Grand Prix race weekends respectively, each box set owner and a guest will enjoy an immersive Williams Racing Formula One experience. Guests will be taken on a guided tour of the race team HQ and the Williams Racing Museum to understand the team’s illustrious history, being one of only three Constructors to win over 100 Grand Prix races.

To celebrate the launch of the new Bremont Williams Collection, Bremont designated an entire area of ‘The Wing’ as the ‘Williams Racing Pit Lane’, where guests could play Williams themed Scalextric, test their reactions on the Batak wall and challenge Williams Racing’s own, Alex Albon, to the fastest lap around the Silverstone circuit on the F1 simulators. Unsurprisingly Alex’s time remained at the top of the leaderboard all week despite some impressive efforts from guests. After making light work of the simulator, Alex was challenged to something a little more outside of his comfort zone as he was put through a Bremont Watch Making Masterclass with the Bremont assembly team. The day’s events concluded with a sold-out evening event where Alex Albon and Williams Racing CEO, Jost Capito, enlightened the crowd with the inside scoop on Williams Racing’s aims and ambitions for the upcoming 2022 F1 Season.

DEFYING GRAVITY

Guests were thrilled and surprised in equal measure when British inventor and friend of the brand Richard Browning landed outside ‘The Wing’ wearing his Gravity Industries Jet Suit. A sight and sound to behold, his innovative Jet Pack is a phenomenal piece of British aviation engineering and, although slightly more modern in contrast to the British Airways 747-400 Flight Deck sat proudly at the entrance to ‘The Wing’, it looked very much at home inside Bremont’s Manufacturing and Technology Centre.

PAVING THE WAY FOR BRITISH ENGINEERING

During the evening of Wednesday 9th March, guests attended an event to celebrate all things British design and engineering. Hosted by Bremont Co-Founder Giles English, esteemed speakers included Andrew Martin (Director of Business Development & Marketing, Martin Baker), James Colgate (Director of Operations, Williams Racing), Ian Callum (Founder of Callum Design) and Will Butler-Adams (MD Brompton Bikes).

Wednesday also saw the official launch of the new Bremont 2022 collection and among the highly anticipated new line-up was the limited edition ‘Dambuster’. As part of its partnership with Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD), Bremont launched the new limited edition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Lancaster Bomber first seeing service in 1942, and the subsequent Dambusters Raid in 1943, paying tribute to this iconic Second World War aircraft and courageous mission. This special 42mm chrono timepiece takes design cues from many of the military watches of the 1940s and uniquely, each one comes with an elegant set of silver Avro Lancaster Cufflinks incorporating aluminium from the original airframe of Lancaster B.VII NX611 ‘Just Jane’.

It was all about stealth with three new additions to the Jet series, each finished with a sleek DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated Trip-Tick® case for a robust yet tactical appearance. The series sees the introduction of two new diving watches, the Supermarine Chrono Jet and S502 Jet, both tested by Bremont Ambassadors Jason Fox and Aldo Kane, alongside a new iteration of the 40mm AIRCO in the same finish.

The all-new Argonaut Bronze forms part of Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection which pays tribute to Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. The Argonaut Bronze is specifically dedicated to the Navy and comes in two new colourways, both manufactured from CuSn8 bronze, considered a 'marine metal', entrenched in naval heritage making it the perfect material for this robust timepiece.

A striking new addition to the renowned Supermarine 500 collection, the Supermarine Descent II is a practical, robust and beautifully engineered 43mm diving watch made from aviation-grade titanium and bronze. WE WISH WE COULD TELL YOU MORE ABOUT THIS ONE…

On the Thursday of the Townhouse week, Bremont was delighted to have ambassador and star of the hit TV series SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox in attendance. Whilst visiting Bremont’s HQ, Foxy tried his hand at watch assembly, polishing and keeping Bremont’s team perked up with coffee throughout the day. During the evening, guests were privy to a Bremont Adventurer’s Club with Foxy as the speaker, telling tales of his previous expeditions and his time with the British Special Forces.
